What is Eggcel™?
Eggcel™ is 100% pure liquid egg whites! Just as if you cracked and separated them yourself at home! What we've done is pasteurise Eggcel™, to avoid salmonella and enable you to use it in drinks, as it's not raw egg white. Conveniently packaged into 1L bottles. Just open, pour & enjoy!

Each cup of Eggcel™ gives you 26 grams of pure protein,only 2 grams of carbohydrates, NO fat and NO cholesterol. There are no additives or preservatives, no artificial ingredients or food colourings.

Why does it look so ugly!?
As you know, egg whites have a naturally light yellow colour to them. You will notice this more in the bottle than in the frying pan or blender.

We could've made it look more "consumer attractive" but then what's the point in that? To do that we would have had to add colourings, additives and goodness knows what else. Eggcel™ egg whites are packaged in a clear bottle so consumers who value purity can view our freshness in our unaltered or modified product.We know Eggcel™ customers are smart cookies, and don't need to have a natural food source altered just so it looks good. It's what's on the inside that counts!

The white substance you may see floating on top of the chilled bottles is the same white particle you see when you put an egg in the frying pan. This connects from the egg white to the egg yolk. We leave this in Eggcel™ because it has the highest concentration of protein in the egg. Just shake up the bottle before using.

Oh and by the way, Eggcel™ is completely tasteless and odourless. It's the yolk that has a taste, which a lot of kids do not like, so try them on Eggcel™ and most often than not, they'll love scrambled egg whites or an Eggcel™ shake.

How can Eggcel™ 100% Pure Egg Whites be used?

They can be prepared and eaten the same way you eat eggs today. You can use them in baking and making pancakes or whatever you would normally use eggs for. Eggcel™ make awesome omelettes and scrambled eggs. Because the yolk is gone, there is absolutely NO fat and NO cholesterol. Because of this, the eggs tend to be fluffier and healthier without the yolk. They also make great smoothies and protein shakes, thanks to the pasteurisation process that has eliminated the salmonella threat from drinking raw egg whites.  Bodybuilders and elite athletes consistently use egg white protein in their diets.  Now you can too!

What's the difference between Eggcel™ and your typical protein powder?
You could just use a protein powder. Most people use protein powders for convenience with the average serving size of 40g. The only thing is most protein powders are only 70 to 80% bio available and only supports muscle growth for 2 to 3 hours. This means that out of 40 grams of protein powder your body is only getting 28 to 32 grams at best!

How do I measure Eggcel™?

Eggcel™ 100% Pure Liquid Egg Whites- 1 cup = 26g Protein (only 127 calories)
Eggcel™ Protein Powder - 1 scoop = 22.6g Protein

Each egg varies in size and produces a different amount of egg white versus yolk. As a rule of thumb, there are approximately 4-5 egg whites to each 1/2 cup of liquid egg whites.
1 whole egg = 3 tablespoons
1 egg white = 2 tablespoons

Why swap my protein powder with Eggcel™?
Egg whites are 100% bio available. Which means that none of its amino acids are wasted or damaged. Liquid egg whites support muscle growth for up to 4 to 5 hours whereas protein powders in general, are on average only 70 to 80% bio available. These powders only support muscle growth for 2 to 3 hours.

The difference between, LIQUID and RAW egg whites?
The human body cannot digest a raw egg white. Because of the Avidin found in a raw egg white; your body struggles to digest a raw egg white. Not to mention the threat of Salmonella. Eggcel™ is NOT classed as raw, due to the pasteurisation process. So you can stop putting yourself in jeopardy adding raw eggs to your shakes!

What's Avidin?
You need to cook the egg white to neutralise the Avidin and allow your body to digest the protein. Also Avidin is known to cause a Biotin deficiency.

What is Salmonella?
More than 90% of all eggs are free of contamination at the time they are laid. Contamination with Salmonella bacteria and with certain spoilage organisms occurs essentially afterward. Proper washing and sanitising of eggs eliminates most salmonella and other such spoilage organisms deposited on the shell. Eggcel™ 100% Pure Egg Whites are pasteurised and tested for salmonella.

Why Pasteurise Eggcel™?     
We pasteurise Eggcel™ to kill bacteria. They are then tested for any signs of Salmonella bacteria. Eggcel™ is produced to USDA standards which sets criteria for the combination of time, temperature and flow of egg through the pasteurisation process. Also once pasteurised, it is no longer classes as raw egg white, which is why Eggcel™ is safe to drink!

What is the best way to use Eggcel™?
In a drink! If you require a quick and easy high protein meal in a hurry, then what could be better! They can be added to most any cold drink without changing the flavour. Mix them with orange juice, tomato juice, fruit and yoghurt smoothies, and milk etc.  Or if you're tough enough ... you can drink them straight. ...
What ever you like to drink, can now be protein enriched with sustained release!

Not just for drinking!
Liquid egg whites are also the most versatile form of protein because you can use them in just about anything you want. They make great omelettes and can be used in any cooking in place of a whole egg.

How much protein should you consume in a day?
On average people require between 1.5 - 3 grams of protein per kilo of lean mass to maintain health and effiency.Athletes have a high demand for protein whether endurance runners or bodybuilders. Both breakdown muscle during training and need to to optimise protein uptake for muscle repair. So as to maintain their metabolic rate and either maintain their power to weight ratio or build greater mass. Protein is the building blocks for muscle. Protein is essential to maintain lean muscle mass as lean mass optimises your metabolic rate and a increase in muscle mass leads to a increase in calories burnt at rest.

How often do you use Eggcel™?
As often as you want, probably at least twice a day. Perfect as the first meal in the morning as it is important to get nutrients into the system first thing, hence breaking the fast of a nights sleep. Also just before bed, to keep the body charged for the repair process, which takes place whilst we sleep. By drinking a high protein drink with liquid egg whites just before you go to bed, they will support muscle growth for up to 4 to 5 hours. These are also times when we are at home and can have access to fresh refrigerated live food which Eggcel™ 100% Pure Liquid Egg Whites most definitely are, real food!

Is it safe to freeze Eggcel™?
Absolutely! You can even put a previously opened, partially used bottle of Eggcel™ in the freezer. They will last indefinitely while frozen (2 years to be exact but we doubt you’ll keep them for that long!). We do not recommend that you re-freeze Eggcel™ if it's not necessary. To defrost, put the bottle in the kitchen sink and leave it overnight. Once defrosted, you must keep them in the fridge. When EggcelTM freeze, the water separates from the egg and settles on top. Therefore, it may be necessary to shake the bottle before using. If the eggs tend to cook up watery, simply blend in a blender for a few seconds to make sure that the water mixes back into the egg.

What is the "shelf life" of Eggcel™?
When chilled, four weeks.  Heaps of time to use up a bottle! If you freeze them, they will last for 2 years.

Eggcel™ is also available as a protein powder!

We have Eggcel™ Protein Powder as well, which is simply liquid Eggcel™ that’s been dried after the pasteurisation process.  In 1kg there is the white of 260 eggs!  Almost a gram for gram of protein.

What happens to the rest of the egg?
The yolks are sold to various companies that produce salad dressings, ice cream, mayo, etc. All that stuff we prefer not to eat aye!
